Brigitta Winkler
Lives in Berlin where she studied ballet and modern dance for many years. In 1980, her life changed when she discovered Argentine tango. She then spent some years in Paris studying with Virulazo, a star of Tango Argentine. At that time she met Coco Orlando Diaz, and they began performing together at Les Trottoirs de Buenos Aires in Paris. They took their own show to Montreal, and Toronto. Brigitte traveled often to Buenos Aires to study with such noted dancers as Juan Carlos Copes, Antonio Todaro, Pepito, Gustavo Naveira, and Eduardo Arquimbau. In 1987, she opened Tanzart with her partner; Angelica Fischer and they have performed with companies in Berlin and other European cities. In 1994 Brigitte choreographed and danced in "Tango Marathon" in the Theaterhaus Stuttgart" and "Tango Vision" in the Podewil Berlin. more info click here |
Tomas Howlin
Born and brought up in Buenos Aires Tomas brings and shares his 12 years of teaching and performing experience in Argentina, North America and Europe. Through his understanding and dedication Tomas creates a bridge linking traditional tango with the newer tendencies. Tomas dances and teaches authentic Argentine Tango. He had the privilege to study and assist some of the greatest teachers of all time: Pepe Avellaneda, Pupy Castello, Jose Brahemcha, Gustavo Naveira, Graciela Gonzalez. His knowledge and pedagogy are unique and exceptional. Tomas believes in a natural, relaxed, comfortable, thoughtful and skillful tango; one that is unique for each person. Cecilia González
An exceptional dancer, since 1995, has worked with the most renowned Argentinean dancers of her generation. Her dancing is characterized by her technical precision, the fluidity and elegance of her movements, and a remarkable capacity to improvise. Cecilia Gonzalez effortlessly shares her extensive knowledge and passion with her students. She has given workshops and has been invited to festivals in Europe, North and South America.

Donato Juárez
He is one of the most talented tango dancers of his generation. Donato Juárez has performed extensively in Argentina and has been invited to international tango festivals in Australia, Europe, Mexico, and Iceland. He has been invited to perform with Cecilia González in both the 2006 and 2007 International Argentine Tango Congress. |
Javier Rochwarger
He is a warmly intense and generous talent belonging to Buenos Aires' newer generation of tango dancers. Grounded, sensual, and musical expression emanates from Javier's dancing and is reflected in the faces of his partners on the dance floor. Javier has performed regularly at such renowned tango venues as Cafe Tortoni and Bar Sur as well as one of tango's historical sites - Caminito (La Boca). In the past four years he has traveled throughout the U.S. and in Japan and Spain to teach classes, founding a milonga and starting tango activity in Seville. He has also had a full teaching schedule at home in Buenos Aires, including classes with the Grupo Graciela Gonzalez, for the Festival de Tango de la Ciudad Buenos Aires in the San Martin Theater and at the University of Quilmes.

Monica Caivano
Monica began teaching tango in 1997, in Austin, Texas. Her love for the dance, the music and the culture of tango comes across in the enthusiasm and accessibility she offers her students. Above all, Monica seeks through her teaching to get people “out in the street” dancing socially. Her strengths lie in conveying both the technique and the passion of tango.
Beyond her roles as performer and teacher, Monica created, choreographed and directed, with Aztlan Dance Company (AZD), the only full-length tango shows that have been produced locally in Austin: “The Tango Project” (2001) and “The Tango Hideaway” (2002). Aside from AZD, Monica’s affiliations include Footworks Dance Center, the Dougherty Arts School, Zachary Scott Theatre, and Proyecto Teatro.

Tova & Carlos Moreno
Tova and Carlos have been dancing Argentine tango together for over a decade - and they're still just as fired up and passionate about the dance as they were when they took their first tango-steps together in Seattle in 1997. The Morenos regularly teach and perform at tango weekends and festivals across the country. Their performances are applauded for their musicality and playfulness. As instructors, the Morenos hook students with a happiness and sense of fun that is innate to their personalities, but keep students coming back with solid technique and a gentle demand for precision and hard work.

Ramu Pyreddy is the founder of the Michigan Argentine Tango Club at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor - a community well known for its excellent social dancing skills - where he is actively involved in teaching, organizing, DJing and dancing. He is one of the most knowledgeable and sought after tango DJ's in North America and is a featured DJ at most tango festivals in the US. He teaches tango for the social dance floor with an emphasis on musicality and connection. Shorey Meyers
Shorey is an accomplished teacher whose primary goal is to give her students those tools necessary to make their dancing as enjoyable as possible in the shortest amount of time. As great as her love of the dance is her love of the music, a passion which is evident whenever she steps behind the DJ booth. She travels all over the country to DJ at festivals and local milongas and she loves to keep both very traditional and very alternative crowds dancing all night long.

Vijav Namasivayam
Vijay Namasivayam was one of the key instructors and DJs in the Ann Arbor tango community. He is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He teaches the traditional Milonguero style of dancing that employs subtle body movements to generate complex choreography in a compact space. His classes have a strong emphasis on Connection, Musicality and Navigation that help students to quickly grasp the fundamentals of social dancing. His dancing style has been influenced by many teachers including Robin Thomas, Christopher & Caroline, Alex Krebs, Jaimes Friedgen in the US and by Susana Miller, Cacho Dante, Ana Maria Shapira and Javier Rodriguez in BsAs. In the span of three years Yulia has become a popular DJ on the national festival circuit. Her playlists offer a mixture of Old Guard and Golden Age tango. Yulia also plays alternative music, when appropriate to the venue and the mood of the crowd on the floor, and has DJed numerous alternative milongas. Yulia is a regular DJ at such weekly DC venues as Divino, Eastern Market, and Bethesda Dance Studio. Glovertango
Glovertango performs the passionate and captivating traditional music of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Drawing on arrangements from the Golden Age of Tango, the group combines faithful renditions of early 20th century tangos, milongas, and waltzes with original compositions in the classic style. The foremost provocateur of tango in Austin, Texas, Glover Johns Gill leads the group on accordion and bandoneón. Accompanying him is Justin Sherburn on piano and Chris Maresh on bass. The Tosca String Quartet completes the ensemble, and the result is a tango orchestra much like the classic groups of Francisco Canaro, Carlos Di Sarli, Anibal Troilo and Osvaldo Pugliese.

Andrew Dugas
Andrew Royal Dugas first came to yoga through his music studies at Rice University in 1997. In 2003 he stopped playing classical music to teach yoga full-time. His very unique style of teaching is a result of a combination of passionate inquiry into the function and form of Raja Yoga and a distinct influence from his teacher and friend, Robert Boustany. His exploration of the body allows for an appropriate class for absolutely anyone, at any level, at any point in their life. You can often find students between 12 and 70 years old, pregnant goddesses, self-conscious absolute beginners and seasoned teachers in the same class, each able to be exactly at their level.
